Slowly, the dark time of the year begins. The days get shorter, the nights get longer. October is slowly coming to an end, and the fallen leaves gather on the streets. All indicators, that Halloween is coming soon.

The word Halloween origins from the old Celtic language and is made up of the words “All Hallows´ Eve” and means “The evening before All Hallows´ Day“, which is on November, 1.

There are a lot of myths and stories about Halloween, why this day exists and why it is being celebrated. One of these myths implies, that Halloween is a Celtic rite, which has been celebrated for several centuries. For the Celtics, the year starts November, 1 and therefore, they celebrate October, 31 as the day of the dead by lighting a big fire.

The pumpkin the Garden serves as a deterrent for bad ghosts and that is the reason the pumpkin looks so spooky. Not to scare the neighbors away, instead to keep the lost souls away.

Even we are totally excited about Halloween and not only because of the many different stories about this evening but rather to dress up. Since yesterday we started a small make up tutorial series. Each of us puts a different Halloween make up on. I started with the Black Swan and are very eager to know what you think.
