How to survive winter in a good mood

Slowly it’s getting grey and dark outside. The fallen leaves are laying on the ground and the last pop of color is disappearing. I definitely noticed that the dark time of the year has begun. The sun is coming out super rare and everything is grey. Even though I’m used to it, because I always lived up here in the north, I noticed how tired I am on this dark days. I’ve some tricks that I love to dispose to get in a good mood while it is cold and dark outside.

  1. Take vitamin D pills. The body only produces this vitamin when you get enough sun. It helps to be in a better mood, to sleep well and feel awake. Since here in the north of Europe we are exposed to the sun too rarely, vitamin D is perfect to avoid winter depressions.

  2. To fight against the bad weather I love to wear color. Whether it is a yellow sweater or a red coat, beautiful colors make good mood even on cold and rainy days.

  3. Use the weather for something positive. Sometimes I’m happy when it’s raining on a Sunday because I love to stay at home for a day. I really like to read a book or just have a movie night with Henrik. We can snuggle up under a cozy blanket and just relax all day.

So, each season has its advantages. Even though I’m a total summer fan, I’m also looking forward to the cozy time in winter.
