We all know it, spring in Germany can be really treacherous. Especially up in the north, it sometimes can be super cold or really warm. You are never proper dressed for the weather. Now it is the perfect time to layer, simply because you can always put on or take off something and you are always prepared for the weather.
What should you consider by creating a layering look? Here are my four layering tips to get well dressed through spring.
-
Use different cuts. For example, a long blouse under a cropped sweater or as I did, a short jacket under a long coat.
-
Consider a color theme. I love white and blue, with these colors you never really go wrong. The rusty tone of my coat is the keypiece and harmonizes with the other colors of the look.
-
Combine different materials. Cord looks great with a light silk blouse. I wasn’t so daring this time and opted for a mix of jeans and a cotton fabric from my coat. But already this combination can make a look.
-
Don’t layer too much. Less is more! Sometimes even a T-shirt under a slip-dress is enough to create a cool layering look.
